On 30 May, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Secretary of State Stientje van Veldhoven undertook a working visit to Amsterdam on circular economy technology, where they learnt all about Niaga® and other key innovations in the circular economy.
The working visit started on Wednesday morning at the Edge Olympic Building of Edge Technologies, the newest company of OVG Real Estate, which specializes in developing office buildings with a circular character worldwide. The Edge Olympic Building in Amsterdam is the first of a new generation of circular and smart buildings. One of the circular innovations integrated into the building is Niaga®’s completely circular carpet.
Above all, the working visit underlined the importance of recycling and the strong future of the circular economy. “The visit of Prime Minister Rutte gave us the opportunity to show the government that sustainable manufacturing is the future,” says Chris Reutelingsperger, chief technology officer at Niaga®. “The Netherlands can be at the forefront of limiting unambiguous waste streams such as carpet.”
