About Zebrands
Luuna, founded in 2015 by Carlos Salinas, Laurén Maire, Guillermo Villegas, and William Kasstan, revolutionized the Mexican mattress industry by introducing the first mattress-in-a-box concept with a 100% online sales model and hassle-free trial nights. Within a year, Luuna became a favorite among consumers, gaining over 500,000 customers and establishing 50 retail stores.
With a successful second round of funding in 2017, securing 100 million pesos, Luuna garnered recognition as one of Latin America's most successful startups by Endeavor and earned a spot on Forbes' "30 Under 30" list. The brand's rapid growth led to the launch of Nooz, a second Home & Living brand offering mattresses and bedroom furniture for a broader market. Nooz quickly expanded to 100 retail locations.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Luuna persevered, opening 10 new stores since March 2020 and becoming one of the top 3 sellers in the Home category on Amazon Mexico. Currently, Luuna operates over 50 retail stores nationwide and is available in over 250 points of sale, including renowned retailers like Liverpool, El Palacio de Hierro, Sears, and Costco. Meanwhile, Nooz has a presence in more than 100 commercial outlets, including major players like Sam's Club and Elektra.
In 2022, Zebrands expanded its portfolio to the travel category with Mappa, offering high-quality, stylish luggage at an affordable price.
